The most important thing after choosing the right doctor is to follow all his or her orders once the surgery is complete. In other words, if you are told to use drops every two to four hours, make sure you do not wait six. Typically, you would be told to rest for a few days after surgery, allowing your eyes and body to recover. Some people are fine to return to work the following day but that will depend on what your doctor says. Then, you will be told not to do anything strenuous such as sports, exercise, or lifting. The reason is that the pressure could cause serious problems with the eye. You also need to avoid rubbing the eye. For about a week, you will have the sensation of having something in the eye but you need to avoid the temptation to rub. Soon, your eyes will heal and your vision will be wonderful.
